“When all this is over, we’ll be a proper family. You’ll see.”
Harry Potter feelings time.
I consider myself to be a fan of the books, not the movies. The movies fucked up so many things, came up with utter bullshit non-canon things, ignored epic book moments, and I didn’t agree with a lot of what they did.
Especially Sirius. He was my favourite character, PoA was my favourite book. I effing loved that book, I remember when I first read it when I was… thirteen-ish, maybe, and I adored Sirius and I bawled my eyes out when he left. That movie was the worst one, I’ve seen it once, I never intend to watch it again (except for the HP movie marathon I inevitably must participate in sometime). And Gary Oldman is epic, of course he is, but he is not the right Sirius at all, so the movie makers already messed up there. In fact, I think they messed up the Marauders all together: Lupin was all wrong, James was all wrong… So was Wormtail. Argh. I mean, firstly in appearances they were all wrong. God, it’s so infuriating how James Potter has the black messy hair that Harry inherits (though not in the movies, fail fail), it’s mentioned so many fucking times, and then they get some ginger-brownish haired guy playing him. And then Sirius Black, who has black fucking hair and is develishly handsome, is neither of those things. GRRRRRR.
Okay, this is just turning into a PoA rant. Can we throw in Lupin’s close friendship to Lily while we’re at it? Oh yeah, that’s canon. WHAT. THE. FUCK.
And those rat-looking “werewolves”. The book was so specific about what werewolves look like (spoilers: like wolves), and then the movies go LOL LOOK AT THIS RAT APE MONKEY WOLF. What?!
Okay, okay.
Sirius was my favourite character, I hated what they did to him in the movies.
The books were amazing. The movies were so and so.
Peace out.
